Fungus Foray in Bowdown Woods
Fabulous fungus foray in Bowdown Woods today - not only beautiful examples of the Boletus, like this one, and some superb puffballs (known as the devil's snuffbox), but also some saffron milkcaps, not seen at Bowdown before.
This is an amazing place overlooking the Kennet Valley and a great place to see all kinds of wildlife. The mature oaks are stunning and the light was magical where it poured through into open glades, even on an overcast morning. What a great start to the long dark days ahead!
