The Pumpkin Eaters

Cara blotted her copybook this morning as she was confused by the clock change. She thought the clocks went forward not back and woke up way too early, so we had a very long morning.

I had a great walk on the Thames with my daughter, Cara and the two boys who were on scooters....but yet again, in the flurry of getting everyone ready and out I forgot my camera. It was a shame as the river looked splendid in the morning light and was very busy with the local rowing club who were out in all their boats for practice. There were also a couple of canoeists, probably out for pre-breakfast exercise - we did see one of them getting out of his canoe and carrying it up to one of the houses whose garden led down to the river. Cara had great fun running alongside the boys on their scooters and dipping in and out of the water whenever possible. She was unfazed by all the wild fowl until she came across a swan, and that was a different story. Bruce would have loved the walk but is still confined to barracks although the medication is working and he is not even limping now.

This afternoon we started scooping out the pumpkin ready to carve out a spooky face, designed by the boys. Then tonight, with the pumpkin duly lit we had some fireworks. Lewis, the one year old, was thrilled with the sparkly ones. Another busy but enjoyable day.
