Old PC's Office, Nairobi, Kenya

This is the "Old PC's Office" - that is Provincial Commissioner's Office located right in the heart of Nairobi City, now on a busy roundabout. It was built in 1913 when Nairobi was the very different low-rise capital of Kenya Colony. The centre is now dominated by modern office buildings. It is now the Nairobi Gallery.

The Old PC's office building was fondly referred to by the settler community as 'Hatches, Matches and Dispatches' name because of the births, marriages and deaths that were recorded there.
