Much better than yesterday; I even got a very small apology for the harassment from the harrassor and lots of nice people waved their heads above the parapet and generally removed unnecessary attention from me. I think I even clocked out slightly before five though I then clocked back in again slightly after five when I swiped my card again on the way back from the changing-room having forgotten than I'd swiped out after emerging from the stairs. A small problem.

I did have a bunch more stuff typed but that irritating thingby whereby the Preview button simply wipes all the text from the text boxes and returns you to the select-an-image screen occurred on one of the rare occasions when I haven't precautionarily typed everything out in Notepad first and I have not the time to sit and remember everything then re-type it just now.

Not wanting to add the the growing list of food-serving-places I refuse to eat from in protest at the closure of the previous inhabitants we went to a young upstart restaurant this evening despite the distinct reduction in charisma of the interior and the change from exciting foreign spicyfood with BYOB option to standard-issue bistroid fare. At least one of the waiting-people was the same as the previous place which is vaguely encouraging though the speed of changeover and the utter lack of "thanks for your business over the years, we're shutting now, bye"-type notices in the winoow seemed odd. The food was quite tolerable though a little bit safe and the portions were edging towards the small end of the acceptable range though it was a set-price-x-course menu and it's quite nice to not be too overstuffed after three courses or even regretting the starter half-way through the main course as there isn't enough space. I would have preferred ice-cream which was still frozen and which didn't swiftly degenerate into a chocolate-chip-strewn puddle in the middle of the plate but at least it tasted reasonably fresh. Slightly odd being the only people in the place, too. It shall be interesting to see if it survives considering the predecessor was there for years and years and years before the sudden replacement.
