Auckland to Hot Water Beach

Been wanting this shot for ages, cheers Dan!

Started on the Kiwi Experience Bus today in Auckland. Its basically a bus tour, designed for 18 to 35 year old backpackers. The principle is quite simple, you have a minimum amount of time that you can complete your tour in, mine was 18 days. But you can take up to a year to complete it. So if you like a place lots, and you have lots of time you can stay there for ages and then jump on the next big green bus that comes through.

We took a walk down to Cathedral Cove, film location for the narnia films. So beautiful. And then back to the hostel to have 'a few' drinks and play some 'get to know you' drinking games. The place we were staying was called Hot Water Beach, because at low tide you can dig a hole in the sand and sit in a hot bath! However, sadly low tide the night we stayed there was at about 12.30am. So off we staggered in the poring rain and driving wind, armed with spades. All we managed to achieve before I decided it was definately bedtime was a shallow puddle filled with lukewarm rain water!
