French Onion Soup

This is what I made for lunch today. Dave went out with his mate for a bike ride so I had a couple of hours to myself. It was delicious - very sweet cos I cooked it long and slow in the initial phase (the onion bit). The bay leaf and the chives are homegrown by moi. I topped it off with croutons made from leftover home baked bread and a little fresh grated Parmesan. Bon appetite!

Now the house sounds like a madhouse - as Dave and Anton make preparations for brewing a batch (if that's the word) of beer. They are very excited. And noisy.

BBQ tonight.
