Too tired to write much tonight after another day spent at Orton Pit, helping Alex take his samples. Today we were working at the southern end of the sites, a good walk from the car. The clay was extra slippery after the rain, and the muscles in my legs ache from the effort of staying upright.

So tonight it's another set of leaves from the garden, this time from our paper-bark birch which has turned the most beautiful gold in the last couple of days.
