Swarming

Always drama in this household -although not nearly as often lately.

The bees took it into their heads to swarm today, apparently just the time of year. It was close to sunset. When Michael saw the swarm hanging in the tree, he went to get a box to capture them but by the time he came back, the branch had obviously broken and they were all spread out on the floor. So we put a bee hive nearby and rested a board from the edge of the swarm to the doorway of the beehive.

Believe it or not, within minutes, the bees all started crawling up the board and disappearing inside the hive. I would never have believed it if I had not seen it myself!
