It just fell over...!

This is a tree that had fallen over.
"Get away", you might well say and I would agree with you there.

I think it was preferable that it had fallen into this field rather than the other way, which would have been onto a narrow lane and possibly straight onto someones house. I live in a house surrounded by large trees and would really not want any to fall on us during a gusty moment! No way!

As you can see it has turned quite green and mossy so it must have been here quite a while. I have driven by it before on several occasions but am unable to see it from my car.

Today I happened to be walking down this lane alongside this field and it is what they officially call an unadopted road, which basically means that it is full of lethal and very muddy potholes. And that is the reason why I was walking rather than driving down it. It is infinitely less bother to clean the mud off my black leather boots than it is to get my car repaired! I didn't have too far to go, you'll be pleased to know.
