Autumn colours

I read somewhere that the autumn colours were due to the fact that sugars produced in the leaves by the solar energy are then trapped in the viens by the drop in temperature as the evening draws in, and these then cause the red and the orange colours. Clever stuff nature - and so beautiful too!
