Rain stopped play
It was a foul day here at Clumber Park today, our last full day before returning home tomorrow. The kids did get out for a spell in the afternoon but only really to come back for a change of clothes as they got absolutely soaked.
Therefore, as at their request we had brought Monopoly along for just these circumstances (we don't bring a TV with us to the caravan) and, although at seven and four, neither is at the recommended age for the full Monopoly game we thought we'd give it a whirl anyway. Not entirely successful but we had fun for a while before Alex started to get distracted and kept knocking things over or wanting to build houses on properties he didn't own.
As it happens, Alex had bought Park Lane and Mayfair and had a house on each by the time we abandoned for lunch and never quite resumed as it was afternoon that they decided to test the water resistance of their clothing, none of which was claiming to be water resistant in the first place.
This will either conjure a warm feeling with happy memories or perhaps bring you out in a cold sweat remembering the horror of similar experiences, the reason most people hate the thought of caravanning.
Anyway, they had fun (they're only trainee teenagers at this stage) and we ended up taking them out to McDonalds for tea.
