Minimalism

I met my friend Zoe today. I call her Zoe (pronounced zo) because that is her name (pronounced zoey). However I am a pedant and refuse to call her Zoe (pronounced zoey) because her parents never gave her the required diaeresis to make Zoë (pronounced zoey), and instead left her as Zoe (pronounced zo).

I am regularly surprised that she does not slap me.
