The best lunch in Edinburgh?

Two food blogger friends asked me to join them for lunch at Castle Terrace Restaurant today (which recently got its first Michelin star).

The set lunch was simply outstanding - for £24 you eat 3 mouth watering courses and an "amuse bouche".

My starter includes smoked eel, savoury pannacotta, poached quails egg set in a clear apple jelly. Beautifully judged flavours and textures.

I just wish I'd had more time to savour it all, had to get back to work.
