B&Q

Persuaded by Mrs P to go and help her collect from the local B&Q terracotta plant pots for the "enterprise" project at her primary school. She wheedles cheap plant pots out of local firms or garden centres, gets the kids (Infant 1 or 2) to paint them, and sells them at a school bazaar. If parents ever wonder why Scottish education is slipping down the lists of European/International standards it's because some ****hole in Edinburgh thinks primary children should do courses in "Enterprise" and "Citizenship" instead of learning to read, write and "do sums" formerly known as the "3 Rs" but now the bane of all "progressive" educationists. I very much doubt that Alan Sugar (or Lord Sugar) who that wretched organisation known as the BBC regards as Britain's foremost exponent of business enterprise ever had "enterprise" at his school. But of course unlike those jobsmiths at Highland Council who control our schools he's betting with his own money not the council tax payers.
