Back to God's own country

Sorry Scottish friends you definitely live in a wonderful country but we all know that Yorkshire is the real deal!!
Friend Corinne and I went to Carleton In Craven to do our second Aire Valley walk. Carleton is the village that featured in my blip last week from our first walk here

We were walking up the other side of the Aire Gap from last time but the views were no less scenic. We followed the course of Carleton Gill and crossed it to climb up to the moors at Scarcliffe. Lots of Grouse rising and squawking from the now faded heather. On our descent back to Carleton and the valley bottom we had this view across the Aire Gap up to the fells of the Yorkshire dales. In the hazy distance you can just make out the distinctive shape of Ingelborough. SEE Large

A very scenic walk, fantastic weather but - Oh dear those stiles will be the death of us!
