La vida de Annie

Missed it...

... the spectacular sunset tonight, glimpsed here from my lift back from neuro clinic appointment. Desperate to get down to the river to take it properly, but (a) too late, and (b) had no camera - how did THAT happen? Must have lost more marbles than I thought. Going back to the place where they tinkered with my brain was very strange and brought back memories I thought I didn't have. Once the surgeon discovered my needing a stick was not related to his handiwork he was happy to see me again after a repeat MRI scan in a few months. Any symptoms I reported were "nothing to do with the surgery". Africa may be the result of permanent retinal damage or may improve - early days. Such petty concerns were swept away with his reminder that 50% of SAH patients die on the spot at time of haemorrhage, and half the survivors peg it soon after. I knew these statistics but am always shocked anew at hearing them again, so much so that I went to bed soon after taking this.

Africa/retinal damage was dark grey today.
