My humidor
I 'finished' this in '98, my first attempt at anything this intricate. Materials used were mahogany for the box from dads scrap, zebra wood (hard) for the edge banding and spanish cedar for the lining... it really smells nice. The hinges are refered to as quadrant type hinges to stop the lid at the vertical position. Routing in the hinges took quite a lot of experimentation as I wouldn't spring for a router guide for these hinges. I followed (more or less) the Fine Woodworking December 97 article on 'building a humidor'. One day I hope to install the key lock that awaits.
