American Wing, Met Museum
This is the Charles Engelhard Court in the Metropolitan Museum, "the grand vestibule to the American Wing" as the website notes. Along the far side is the neoclassical facade of the Branch Bank of the United States, which was originally located on Wall Street.
This is another elevated expansive view, to follow yesterday's of Grand Central Terminal--quite a contrast.
This was a gallery-hopping day, including an exhibition of early Picasso drawings at the Frick Collection and an overview of Braque paintings at the Acquavella Gallery (both excellent). At the Met was a small show of drawings by a Renaissance artist, Perino el Vaga, including a newly acquired very rare painting by him, plus a photographs donated to the Met by Alfred Stieglitz
