Without Malice

By aforethought

Screwed

Waking up this morning to darkness was a biological shock. It couldn't possibly be morning. It must indeed be still the middle of the night. Time left, no doubt, to sleep some more.

Only then, the alarm sounds. I has woken just before it. My hopes of more dreams, dashed. And then it was time to rise.

The day was windy. My journey to work fraught with weaving cars and leaning lorries - no, really! An adventure to and from work, in half light. The signs of sunshine diminishing. The Summer has left us, and Autumn is contracting, Winter threatens. Yup, let's face it, if any of us fancy daylight in the next four months, we're screwed!

Good thing I am a fan of Winter nights. Bring it!
