Mild Green Fairy Lit Kid
Halloween must be coming.
There's fairies and witches all over the house tonight, and lots of cheap orange plasticy objects surfacing.
It reminded me that today is eight years since we moved into our house here. We were one of only three houses occupied in the street at the time but we still decorated the place outside with a pile of papier maché pumpkins. We didn't get any 'guisers' or 'trick or treaters' that year but some neds still took time out their busy nedding schedule to come along and kick the pumpkins up and down the street smashing them to pieces.
It also reminded me that it's the eighth anniversary of Concorde's last ever flight in the UK as one of them flew directly overhead as I was humphing a settee out of the back of a removal van. The Captain on that flight lived in the nearby town of Bridge of Allan and was making a final flypast over his house. I only had a tiny 1 megapixel phone camera on me at the time to take a picture and it was pretty hard to tell there was even a plane in the photo (must look to see if I kept that). I remember shouting across to some of the workmen to point out that Concorde was up there but they seemed more interested in the content of their Daily Sports.
Eight years ago... this young lady would have been a mere nine and a half years old.
Oh, how time flies.
