Fire hydrant

Busted my blip streak on Thursday when I got bad news about Mom's deteriorating health. Didn't even remember until 12:02 am Friday and then it didn't seem very important. Forced myself outside and into the sunshine today with the handy iPod Touch. This image is just interesting to me. I had to ask my former volunteer-fire chief husband if this was in fact a "rural version" of a fire hydrant -- yes, indeed. Huh. It actually is on Town water but this is what I would call a pretty utilitarian unit! There's always something new to learn in life, isn't there? Even on a regularly traversed path....
