Juvenile Black-Crowned Night Heron
What a great day! Started out five minutes after I got out of my car.
First a Belted Kingfisher like yesterdays. Then I was under a tree and heard something right over my head and looked up and was eyeball to eyeball with this gorgeous juvenile heron. By the end of the day there were three of these beauties. I also snapped more photographs of the Red Shouldered Hawk.
Thank you for all your great comments.
By the way just a note the adult Black-Crowned Night Herons take in juveniles even if they are not there's. They apparently can not differenciate.
One more fact they are the second largest number of herons in North America.
