What is going on!

I'm not going to say much as everything else seems pretty much irrelevant today.

A young man (same age as me) was brutally murdered in his home town after walking home form a party.

All his friends/family and others from his local community (some who knew him and others who didn't) have gathered tonight to let off lanterns.

We lit a single candle in the house.

What is going on!
