Family celebration
You may recall that 4 weeks ago my parents celebrated their Golden Wedding. Last Monday my Dad also celebrated his 70th birthday. Today they had a lunch to mark both events, the date chosen as it coincides with the beginning of half term.
The lunch was held at a pub local to my parents and 33 family and friends had a really lovely meal. It was great to meet up with older family members I hadn't seen for a while as well as some of the newest members.
After the lunch most returned to my parents' house for a while. It was lovely weather thank goodness and the kids had a whale of a time in the garden with the watering cans!
Here are a few more images from the day.
The cakes. A fruit cake made by Mum and iced by a good friend. The chocolate one was bought and then the same friend created a chocolate shell to go over it. Fab isn't it?
My cousins' children - so my first cousins once removed!!
Eye eye!!
You have to admit she's cute!!!
Another cousin and her daughter.
Such LOVELY music!!
The day ended with another beautiful sunset.
A lovely end to a brilliant day!
