Giant Poppy

These lovely poppys appear in my garden every year and suddeny burst open and brighten up the green surrounding them.
I was trying to get an over view picture of a group of them but they were quite spred out so decided to get up close and personal to this one.

As a flower they always spring to mind the fields of them in france over the battle fields and an image of sadness, but for me they always make me smile at there ability to light up another grey day in the garden.
