Marine Watch

While out walking alone the beach this morning. Met a group of ladies setting up for an exhibition of photos and information of there Marine Watch group.

They monitor the wildlife that can be seen from the beach, such as dolphins and on the rare occasion whale's. They also check the beach for the different type of shells that are washed up.

At one end of Shimonoseki at the other end, part of the i you have the Marine Watch group interested in the protection of the sealife. Yet at the other end of town, part of the Japanese Whaling fleet is getting ready for yet another scientific research trip to Antarctica.

Just goes to show, not everyone here wants the whales or dolphins for dinner. I must add, that there were not too many people taking an interest in what they wanted to show.
