Happy days...
About 15 yrs ago, I had the enormous pleasure of working in Norway for a few months. First in Oslo then Trondheim.
While I was out there I discovered this amazing "brown cheese" which is slightly fudgey in texture and a little bit sweet, and became completely hooked on the stuff and practically lived off it, but had to go "cold turkey" when I came home as I couldn't find it anywhere.
Skip forward to the present; on our day off yesterday, Mary and I went into the West End of Glasgow and happened to be in an amazing cheese shop when low and behold there was this brown cheese!
And here it is blipped for your delight...
There is a slight conflict as to the history of the cheese slice featured with the afore mentioned cheese. I think it was given to me for my birthday whilst in Oslo by the principal horn of the Oslo Phil, one Inger Besserudhagen (I had to look her up on the internet for the spelling!), but Mary seems to think she bought it for me for my birthday at some time...
Good job I won't be seeing Ms. Besserudhagen (just showing off now) anytime soon so I can avoid an embarrassment of not remembering a gift, and have been in a relationship with Mary so long that neither of us can remember half the stuff we've bought for each other...
Thanks whoever it's from, it's a bloody good cheese slice.
