Happy birthday Isabelle x

Marshland-mum (beware: only read on if you don't mind a soppy blip!)

Today was my beautiful daughter's 11th birthday. She has been counting down to her birthday for the past month, saying that she's excited to turn 11 years old as '11' just sounds so much more grown up than '10'. I suppose that when you're only just into two-digit numbers, each year means a great deal in terms of maturity and feeling like you're one of life's serious contenders!

As Isabelle's been kept busy with visitors (and presents) tonight, I promised to do Blip on her behalf - she did take the picture blipped though.

I chose this picture because this day, 11 years ago I was given a gift - the most precious gift that you can ever receive; a daughter. I clearly remember being handed my baby and not believing that I could possibly be lucky enough to really have a daughter. Today, I hold Isabelle in my embrace and still can't believe that I'm lucky enough to have her as my daughter. I would love to hold her tight and never her let go, but I know that a day will come only too soon when I will have to let her go. For now though, I intend to cherish every moment and thoroughly revel in watching her continue to grow into the kind, thoughtful, beautiful, caring and very determined young woman that I know she will become.

Happy birthday Isabelle.
I love you so much.
Mum X

PS: I did warn you that it was a soppy blip. I'm sure that you'll all allow me one such blip a year though!
