Spent the morning's cancelled lecture preparing my practical folder for hand in, then a nice lunch before cycling over to Kings to get it marked. On the way back, caught a girls' eyes and we exchanged a smile.

Nothing more than that, just as you do to people on the street every day - but it struck me how little we smile at each other. I've decided to do it more, seeing as how that one thing brightened my morning considerably.

After a brief lunch, headed into town to catch the 2pm train to Glasgow. Mum had a few hours to kill in-between trains from Bath to Oban (12hrs!) en route to the isle of Tiree on a research trip for her books. Sounds very nice, I'm gutted I can't go and visit!

So we wondered around the centre of Glasgow, where a steady drizzle had set in, had pizza and tea, went for another wonder down to the Clyde, then another tea before heading our separate ways. Was really lovely to see her for a little bit seeing as she's this far north.

Sean's cooked us all Chilli, we're waiting for Maria and her brother who's coming to film us as part of a project for the BBC or something... Perhaps they're trying to get the upper hand on e4 and it's student monopoly. Which reminds me, Mum loves watching the e4 program 'Fresh Meat', wasn't expecting that!
