Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

By Carol

"Gone!"

"Gone!" is one description.
Another I like a lot is "down the rabbit hole!"

After taking the 3 pooches to the kennel this afternoon, we headed for the freeway and made our getaway. As we traveled north above Santa Barbara the overcast gray sky seemed to roll back and the sun was revealed. Excitement was what I felt at the thought that the Central Coast just might be sunny.

It was slightly after dark when we arrive here -- we're not quite 300 miles or approximately 4 hours from home. I can already feel the relaxation setting in. Yes, I have lots of school work to do, not to mention the home front needs my attention, but you know what . . . it's will just have to wait. Because for the next couple of days, I'm on holiday!

We arrived in this lovely little "Cowboy Surf Town" and rolled into the parking lot of a mom & pop motel and have a room for possibly less than we've ever paid. (We're paying $14 a night for each of the dogs at the kennel & they are in one nice size room). We're not paying much more than that for the two of us in our comfy room. This little suite is decorated with lots of Route 66 decorations. It's fascinating and entertaining and made us desire to unfold our map and study the wonder. We also have a little refrig, microwave, and coffee maker.

Once we had secured our room -- our little suitcases situated, we put on our jackets and walked across Main Street to the Sea Shanty restaurant. I had fish n chips and he ordered salmon with clam chowder and salad. So we each shared with the other . . . every bite was delicious. Then we waddled back across the street.

The wifi here works great, but getting Blipfoto seems to be getting tougher -- lots more usage on this wonderful site.

Mr. Fun is already snoozing, so I'm going to join him.

Good night from Southern the Central Coast of California.
