Sometimes with an image - and without any kind of filter on your lens - it's hard to get the balance of exposure right. When it's like that, I tend to process the RAW file twice. Once for the sky, once for the land. Then, copy one on top of the other and use a layer mask and a black brush set to between 80 - 100% opacity to remove the bits you don't want and leave you with a properly exposed shot. Here, I went with exposing the sky properly and rescued the tents of the circus. The, flattened the layers, used a 50% grey overlay layer with a soft white brush set to 10% opacity to bring out just a bit more of the detail.
Boosted the saturation by +10, sharpened, flattened and saved.
Tip of the Day:
Always struggle to do macro photography when the light is bad, but these 20 Spectacular Macro Photographs are worth a drool!
