Fierce Storm

We had a real serious rain storm this afternoon! A very welcome end to a very hot and humid week! C and R jnr moved pots out of the way, to let the water flow out in the corner of the back garden. R snr was outside the wall to open the drain pipe, but C and R jnr 'almost drowned' in the garden, note how deep they're standing in the water.

About 50 minutes after I took this picture, a quite destructive hailstorm broke loose! Poor Joe, coming from Zambia, has no experience of hail at all, we were standing in front of the house, when he thought he saw someone throwing a little ball, but when we shouted he must get his car under cover, since it was parked outside, he realised it was hail! R snr ran under the cover of a big umbrella, to indicate where Joe must go for cover! We all had a real fun afternoon!!

Poor C's plants are quite badly damaged, but we know they will grow beautifully now, nature has pruned them well! ;-)
