And I would Walk 500 Miles

Which I did today.

Today was St Andrew's University.

We liked very much. Especially the wearing of the red gownies.

Also, we liked the quadrangles; "The Score", "The Castle", and much other things.

I've always liked St Andrews as a place. Stop off visits, when dropping the kids at the University Sports Complex for Weekend training and the like.

Today, during the tour, we were told the story of the Martyr Patrick Hamilton. The cobblestones in the link "PH" mark the spot where he was burned at the stake for being a Protestant. Rumour has it, as he died, he gasped, and he soul came forward out of his mouth...... and hit the wall above the gateway where he was being burned.

To this day, he watches from where his soul hit, to make sure that Undergraduates don't step on that spot. If a Student does, they have to circle a post at the end of the pier 3 times in order to reverse the bad luck; or jump in the water in May, or run naked, backwards, three times round the quad.

I like this place!
