Orange Peel Fungus

I've been looking for this one for a while. It usually grows on bare soil and I've often noticed it coming up after we've had a deep scrape on the heath. We had several acres cleared right back to the ground in February but there was no sign of any orange peel fungus. I assumed it was too dry. Then two nights ago we had some overnight rain, the first for many weeks, so today I thought I'd have another look for the orange peel fungus. I'm always amazedwhen a hunch comes good - there was orange peel coming up all over the scraped area. As it grows the cup tends to become thinner and to flatten out and a whitish down appears on the outer surface making it look even more like orange peel.
