Finally replenished the window feeder yesterday - scene of this and this bluetit blip. The coal tits were going mad for it this morning - at least four different birds, totally unconcerned that I was only at arms length away. The bluetits were much more nervy. Sorry curlycarrie, it's not a black and white picture, but the bird's head is - does that count?!

Had to trawl through town today looking for a winter jacket. Shops really do try to peddle a lot of rubbish don't they?! Perhaps they think that playing music loud enough to make your ears bleed will blind you to the fact that what they are trying to convince you to buy is impractical or ugly or, most likely, both.

Grumpy old man or what?! I sometimes wonder if they;ve got my age the wrong way round....
