La Bohème
Today was a busy busy day. First off it was because we went on a music trip to Glyndebourne Opera house, near lewes to see Puccini's 'La Bohème'. We normally go once a year to Glyndebourne, because they do a cheaper schools production. However last year, we unfortunately didn't manage to get any tickets. This year though, I really enjoyed the opera, the music itself, and the plot was all really nice and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The building is set in beautiful grounds too, where we spent the interval and a short period after wards to eat lunch in. There were a few funny moments there too!
Then when we got back to school (earlier than anticipated) I was picked up by mum and dropped to my accompanist's house to have a quick rehearsal for these concerts at the weekend. It all went fine and it's all decided now and stuff. Which is one thing to try and stop worrying about. The only problem is as soon as one thing is ticked off, two more take it's place. Half term couldn't come sooner as far as i'm concerned. After my rehearsal with Marilyn though, I went home very quickly to grab some music and my stand and then popped down for Wind Ensemble rehearsal. The actual rehearsal wasn't a great deal different from normal, but afterwards I also did a quartet rehearsal which was nice, followed by a big long chat with Suzie and Haydn, two of the sort've 'teachers' but they're not teachers they're more like friends to me. Possibly one of the highlights of my day really.
Finally I got home at about 8ish, had my dinner then rushed to sainsburys with dad to do a shop. Came home again, and make a cake for my music lesson tomorrow as it's my 'cake day'. And then finally finished and came upstairs just recently. It's been a long day, and i've realised that my art teacher wanted to see a fair amount of work in tomorrows lesson. I may have to show her this to prove how busy i've been and that i've had no artistic opportunities.
STRESSED. I need to just try and relax, and stay in my little bubble without popping it. Anyways, this wasn't the most 'picturesque' photo I took today, but it makes me smile because it's Glyndebourne, and then has two good friends in it, Ophelie and George. We were the only three people that came from our year group, and I have a similar photo from two years ago with our whole GCSE class. How we've shrunk!
