Day 26- Something Old

OK, so this isn't the oldest thing I own by a long shot, and it looks much older than it really is, but I love the history in it.

As a child, whenever I was at my Grandparents' house early in the morning, I would see my Grandad walking up and down the garden (in warm weather), or pacing the front room when it was cold or wet with this book in his hands. All the grandchildren knew when Grandad had this book in his hands, he was saying his prayers and we mustn't disturb him.

When Grandad died, Grandma gave me his prayer book. I wasn't that interested, but when I moved from home, I joined a community where we used this book frequently. It's actually a copy of the Morning and Evening Office, and is a beautiful way the Catholic Church uses to pray together.

I don't use this one daily anymore, as my Grandma bought me a new one for my 21st, but I still love holding this, remembering the history and sharing in his prayer.
