Croc-tails

Down in the jungle where nobody goes, the crocodiles are hiding waiting to eat all your toes!

We got up early and headed up the coast towards Port Tribulation for a 2 hour guided walk through the oldest rainforest in the world (200 million years) followed by an hours crocodile cruise.

It was a bit alarming to see the crocodiles so close up, and so close to the beaches! Here the mangroves grow right down to the beach and there are plenty of signs warning against swimming. But when its 34c, you have just walked for a couple of hours in the heat it is so tempting to put your toes in the crystal blue water! We didn't, we turned up the air conditioning in our hire car instead.
