Cider Mill

I took a quick spin down to B.F. Clyde's Cider Mill today in Mystic. It was so nice outside, and being a weekday, I knew they wouldn't be too crowded.

This is the cider press....it is the oldest steam powered cider mill in the United States.

It wasn't in operation today, but on the weekends, they press apples for cider for everyone to see. The construction was amazing, the old wood, the huge belts and pulleys.

Of course, I picked up some cider, an apple pie and pumpkin bread!! YUM!


edit: Oh my goodness, I just realized this was my 500th blip!!!! I thought about it all last week, and then totally forgot about it today! Bring on the balloons!
