WELCOME TO HARTLEPOOL !

Last year, after several years of planning and attractive artists'
impressions, the Hartlepool 'Transport Interchange' was completed just
in time for the Tall Ships visit. It consists of some new bus stops
and a car park beside the railway station, and is blessed with some
bits of topiary dotted about, which I've only just looked at properly.
Beyond this pair is Church Street, the heart of Hartlepool clubland
and regular scene of alcohol-fuelled shenanigans. So who thought it
was a good idea to have topiary depicting two figures, apparently
unable to stand, and one apparently preparing to throw up on the
pavement? Brilliant!

(Other interpretations are possible, but I can't think of any.)
