Happy Birthday!

Another back blip.

One of the birthdays today was that of my dear Dad.

This is a pretty awful capture, quality-wise.

However, it speaks volumes to me and is precious...
..It conveys a number of messages. A love of gardening (hence the Percy Thrower book) a just-opened gift, carefully sought out by his clever and thoughtful grandaughter.
His new silk tie (another gift; he wouldn't treat himself to such a luxury) is indicative of his continuing lifelong passion* for aircraft and flight.
A few minutes after this picture was captured, the tie (to the amusement and embarrassment of his only daughter!) was tucked carefully into his shirt to avoid a) the gravy splashes of the birthday lunch and b) the small, and quite probably sticky, young fingers of his greatgrandsons!
Happy Birthday old chap! What a happy day!
