Like Money in the Bank
Living in the woods on a few acres of land has some really great benefits. One of those is that each winter, several trees fall down to the ground and make for some great firewood!
For as long as I can remember, I have told the kids that wood piled in the shed is like money in the bank. Sure, we do have to buy gas and oil for the chainsaw, and Husband needs to maintain the saw, but, oh the wonderful heat we have each winter for a fraction of what fuel would cost!!!
We are very late getting our firewood in this year, but as you can see, it is quite well seasoned! It was cut and stacked in the woods for many months, but Husband and the kids hauled this much (about half of what is there) out in about four hours.
This wood will be split (yes, we have a splitter) and stacked in our nifty woodshed in the back of the garage. It won't be long before we will be needing a fire going all the time.
