To Be Broken In...

The stage at the theatre was completely redecorated on Monday and Tuesday of this week, so Thursday's show was the inaugural performance on the "new" sets...AND I GOT TO BE IN IT! I love the lavender walls with the black door and red chairs. The previous colors were mostly neutrals, so this makes for a really fun change. We had a "Hotel No-Tell" show, which is what we call it when the emcee gives us no information prior to the show - we don't know which games we're playing, what order, etc. It also means we sit together in the front row of the theatre instead of going backstage between scenes. I had never done one of these before, but now I think I like it better than the way we usually do things. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to be in the theatre and watch the whole show with my friends, especially because I got some very bad news at work immediately before I left the office for the theatre. This way, instead of dwelling on the abrupt uncertainty of my future, I was forced to remain mentally engaged with the show. It was a much better option than sitting home moping, which is what I would've done otherwise :)
