Bike-in-Motion
Image caught as this cyclist passed my chair during the Annual Bike Count.
This morning in 3 hours, 416 cyclists and 2 pedestrians passed my intersection. There were a couple of Pelotons consisting of 40-50 riders. Everybody seemed happy to be outside on a clear, sunny day.
Some of the riders could chat briefly while waiting for the Traffic Signal (Stoplight) to change. The most interesting was a man on a recumbent tricycle. He said that he had suffered a torn rotator cuff and his surgeon advised him to not ride a bike. He solved that restriction by purchasing the trike which allows him to pedal without raising his arms or putting any weight upon them.
Tucson is a Gold Level Bicycle Friendly Region and is avidly working for the Platinum designation.
