Bagged
Sometimes, hillwalking in Scotland is a pleasure - the best fun you can have in the outdoors, with wonderful views.
Sometimes, it's a feat of endurance, cold, wet, windy, and generally horrid, all about the physical activity and the dubious achievement of climbing a hill a bit taller than an arbitrary height.
Today was 80% the latter - trudging up through a bog in the cloud, regretting not bringing good gloves, hood up, head down, cold and very very damp from top to toe.
And 20% the former, for the first 30 minutes, and again when we finally popped out below the cloud again on the descent.
Only one thing you can be sure of - the dogs will enjoy it either way.
Go on - go large!
