Far-away SP!

Another year older today . . . . .. I won't say how old but the age I feel in my head is not the age I am!!

The surprise night out for my birthday was a trip to our Concert Hall where we went to the sell out show called Buddy Holly - A Legend Reborn, which had recently been on at the O2 arena in London. Connie Francis was a bit disappointing, parts of the Everley Brothers were really good. The Big Bopper and Buddy were excellent:-)

So today off GG, Breagha, Papa & I went to the SECC for The Ski, Snowboarding and Outdoor Show - got free passes again from our neighbours:-)) A couple of hours there and off we went to Balmaha at the East of Loch Lomond for a walk. As you can see it's very pretty, but just before this picture was taken there was a bit of drama . . . . .. . . Breagha lept up the bank at the side of the Loch and when she came down we noticed something hanging from her chops - closer inspection and saw she was chewing something. It was half a fish with a fishermans line hanging down. We grabbed her and tried to get her to open her mouth but she wasn't giving it up easily - we then saw that entwined in the line and fish were hooks! She was trying to get it down her and we were shouting at her to leave . I'm so relieved to say that we eventually managed to get it out of her mouth and miracuously, with no damage. We were both really shaken up by this as when examining it could see that it was half a fish, about 4 in long, with 2 hooks portruding outwards and a line wrapped round it but 1 foot dangling loose. The potential for serious damage to the wee girl's innards was frightening to think about. We were really lucky that she came down to the path to eat it,, and that we noticed and able to get it from her.

At the start of the walk, I noticed a couple of fishermen, so I thought I would walk down and ask them if they had thrown the fish away earlier, (it was fresh - no stink!), I leaned over the wall to ask them and the younger of the two was holding a syringe ready to inject himself in the arm and also empty tins of lager lying beside them, so I just backed away . . . . OK maybe it was insulin but . . . . .. .. they were pretty undesirable looking characters, so I wasn't taking any chances, as my husband was further up the path, putting away the tripod etc.

We stopped off at the Info Centre in Balmaha to speak to the Ranger, but he had gone so there was a notice with a police number if any member of the public notices anything untoward in the area so we called that and they took details down.

Still thinking about what could have happened to the wee Darling One - extra cuddles tonight for her.
