Peninsula Light

Munlochy Bay (at 10:45pm).

Not a sunset, but a long exposure night shot, followed by some playing with the white balance settings. It's much brighter than it was to the naked eye... unless you're an owl!

That pink in the sky should really be (the usual) orange glow from sodium vapour streetlights - Inverness being the main source, on the right. The blue in the sky is from moonlight. The moon was off to the left, behind clouds. The field in the foreground is being lit by some streetlights behind me.

I put the camera on a mini-tripod and perched that atop a large round bail; aimed it very roughly; set to timer delay mode; and press the shutter release; stand back and listen to the Whimbrels and Redshanks calling in the bay down below, whilst waiting. A very calm night.
