Full steam ahead

What a difference some sun makes! It's been a beautiful day today and my autumnal spirits have lifted considerably. I spent most of the day in the garden cutting the grass, pruning and generally tidying up. I also ate my lunch out there and sat in a deckchair reading my book for a while (before nodding off!). Plus, I was able to get the washing dry on the line, which is always a bonus! I could almost kid myself it was spring...

Post-breakfast and pre-garden I went out for a sunny bike ride and stopped off en route at the Williamson Gallery and Museum where I took this shot of a ship's telegraph - as used for sending messages from the wheelhouse to the engine room. A metaphor? Maybe.
