Bathing

We went down to the Rock Snot Cafe earlier today for a coffee. The cafe is on the bank of the Buller River and is a lovely spot to sit on a nice day and just watch the world happening around you.

There was a tui about and a number of waxeyes, there were kayakers from the kayak school, there were people to chat to. There were also sparrows taking turns at having a dust bath in the sand under the picnic tables.

It's not my clearest shot of the bird but this one shows just how much energy they were expending and how much sand they were throwing about.
