wander, stumble, wonder

Squeeeeze!

On the Sunday of our adventure in Bath we stayed touristy, and went to the Pump Rooms and Baths, and the Fashion Museum. The baths were fascinating, and I enjoyed spending a few hours poking around, imagining ye olde men and women lounging around, taking in the waters.

At the museum they had dress ups for adults. I always appreciate museums that do this - why should kids have all the fun? So we squeezed into corsets and hoop skirts and practised walking around like 19th century ladies. Not that they would ever be photographed in only their undergarments. Or photographed at all really...

Being Bath and all, we also went and investigated all things Jane Austen, well we went to the Jane Austen Centre and had tea and scones. Then our group split, and a friend and I went off to see the museum in the basement of Sally Lunn's, where the only info cards were in German. Lucky I could read them. We then went to the Cathedral, wandered through, and out again. By then it was time to make a move back to Norwich. Our weekend in Bath had come to an end.

We train hopped our way back, with a bus replacement to Ingatestone, and managed to con our way onto an earlier train than our tickets were for. By the sprightly hour of 2am we were all tucked up in our little beds, dreaming of all the wonderful things we'd seen and done over the weekend.
